Endodontic TherapyEndodontic dentistry treats diseases of the tooth’s “pulp” (nerves and blood vessels in the center of the tooth) and roots. When this pulp becomes decayed, it can sometimes be removed with root canal therapy, which prolongs the use of a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted. Alternately, when the pulp is irreversibly damaged (usually by infection, cavities, or injury), an extraction may be a better solution. Dr. Jacob performs bicuspid and forward teeth extractions, and he refers patients needing root canal therapy to esteemed endodontic specialists.
